About Us: Oak Creek Grade VFD: Community-Led, Neighbors Helping Neighbors

About the Oak Creek Grade Volunteer Fire Department

Welcome to the Oak Creek Grade Volunteer Fire Department (OCGVFD), proudly serving our unique and valued community in Fremont County, Colorado. Established in 2018, we are a dedicated team of your friends, colleagues, and fellow residents, united by a single, powerful mission: Neighbors Helping Neighbors.

Our Roots, Our Commitment

The Oak Creek Grade VFD was born from a shared commitment within our community to enhance safety and provide essential emergency services right here where we live. As a community-led organization, every decision we make and every action we take is driven by the needs and well-being of the people of Oak Creek Grade and the surrounding areas we protect.

Since our founding, our dedicated volunteers have worked tirelessly to build a responsive, skilled, and compassionate department. We understand the unique challenges and beauty of our corner of Fremont County, and we’re passionate about safeguarding it for everyone.

What We Do

Our volunteers are trained and equipped to respond to a wide range of emergencies, including:

  • Fire Suppression: Protecting homes, property, and our natural environment from structural and wildland fires.
  • Emergency Medical Response: Providing initial medical assistance and support during critical incidents.
  • Rescue Operations: Assisting in various rescue situations.
  • Hazardous Condition Mitigation: Addressing immediate threats to public safety.
  • Community Safety & Education: Promoting fire prevention and preparedness within our community.

More Than a Fire Department – We’re Your Neighbors

At the Oak Creek Grade VFD, “Neighbors Helping Neighbors” isn’t just a slogan – it’s the principle we live by. We are your local mechanics, teachers, ranchers, retirees, and business owners, stepping up to serve. This deep connection to our community fuels our dedication and ensures we respond with not just skill, but with genuine care and understanding.

Though we are volunteers, we are committed to professional training, continuous improvement, and upholding the highest standards of service to ensure we’re always ready when you need us most.
